Calle 13 rompió todos los récords y se convirtió en el máximo ganador en la historia de los Latin Grammy, al obtener ocho gramófonos dorados y llevar así el total en su carrera a 18.

"No tengo palabras ya. Esto es increíble", expresó el jueves René "Residente" Pérez, acompañado por su hermano Eduardo "Visitante" Cabra, al recibir el premio a la canción del año por "Latinoamérica".

"Educación pública, gratuita y de calidad. ¡Que viva Latinoamérica!", declaró el cantante tras dedicar sus premios a la "lucha estudiantil que se lleva" en la región.

El dúo puertorriqueño de música urbana, que tenía diez nominaciones, se consagró también en los rubros de mejor canción tropical por "Vamo' a portarnos mal" y mejor canción alternativa por "Calma pueblo", además de mejor video versión corta por el clip de esta canción, mejor productor, mejor álbum de música urbana por "Entren los que quieran" y mejor canción urbana por "Baile de los pobres". "Latinoamérica", además, se consagró como mejor grabación del año.

Calle 13 broke all records and became the biggest winner in the history of the Latin Grammys by receiving eight golden gramophones, taking their career total to 18.

"Now I'm speechless. This is incredible," said René "Residente" Pérez on Thursday, accompanied by his brother Eduardo "Visitante" Cabra, on receiving the prize for song of the year for "Latinoamérica."

"Public education that is free and high quality. Long live Latin America!," said the singer after dedicating his prizes to the "student struggle that is being waged" in the region.

The Puerto Rican urban music duo, which had ten nominations, was also awarded under the headings of best tropical song for "Vamo' a portarnos mal" ["Let's misbehave"] and best alternative song for "Calma pueblo" ["Relax, people"], as well as best short-form video for the clip of that song, best producer, best urban music album for "Entren los que quieran" ["Anyone who wants to, come in"] and best urban music song for "Baile de los pobres" ["Poor people's dance"]. "Latinoamérica" ["Latin America"], additionally, was awarded best recording of the year.
